Hammond Park Primary School P & C
AGM – Wednesday 22nd February @ 7pm in the Staff Room
Welcome back to school and a new year for our P&C. We look forward to meeting new members this year and welcoming back our past members. Our first meeting this year is the Annual General Meeting (AGM). At this meeting we elect members to our Executive and Sub-Committees for the rest of the year. It is also a chance to meet new people at the school, reacquaint with past members and show your support for the work of the P&C. You can also join the committee as a regular member for $1. This membership gives you voting rights on issues at meetings, a chance to have a say in a supportive environment and you’ll receive emails with all the news from each meeting and other important information related to the school.
We are looking for new and past members to fill the roles of;
- President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer
- General Committee members (x3)
- Canteen Committee members (x4)
- Fundraising Committee member (x8)
- School Banking officers (x3)
Interested in joining the P&C? Contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org and we can help you out with any information you need.
Canteen News – The Fabulous Food Factory
The Fabulous Food Factory is back again this year and with an extra day! Wednesday is a lunch-only menu with items such as sandwiches, wraps, toasties and the new Factory Pack (see picture below) which can be ordered online or at the canteen between 8:30-9am that morning. It is a slightly different menu to the one available on Friday so please check the school website or app for details. No recess or treats are available on this day and all lunches are delivered to the classroom. Friday is a full canteen service of recess, lunch orders (no toasties) and post-lunch treats. Please spread the word amongst parents about the changes.
Ordering of lunches can be done either at the canteen window on a Wednesday or Friday morning (before 9am, cash only) or through our online service. Go to the page www.ouronlinecanteen.com.au and follow the prompts to create an account and add funds. You can then start ordering for your child. The orders go directly to the canteen if lodged before 9am.
On the topic of lunches, the canteen have reusable insulated lunch bags that hot and cold lunches are placed in each week for the students. If you would like one for $10 then please see the canteen staff on a Wednesday or Friday or email them on email@example.com to place an order before the end of Week 4 (Fri Feb 24th).
Cupcakes! Who doesn’t love a fresh cupcake?!?! The canteen offer a cupcake service of $1 per cupcake, delivered Monday – Friday for Birthdays or other occasions where you wanted to take cakes in for your child to share. Contact the canteen for more details or to discuss your next order.
Please like the Fabulous Food Factory and the P&C on Facebook for up to date information. If you would like to volunteer for a shift at the canteen in the company of some great parents and carers then get on board and sign up now! The canteen can only provide recess and lunch if there are enough volunteers to help out on the day.
Do you need to contact the canteen? The wonderful ladies at the Fabulous Food Factory can be contacted either by the Facebook page or through email on firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have a child who is sick and you’ve already placed their order (don’t worry…it happens!) then please contact the front office and they can pass a message to the canteen. Once the canteen starts on a Wednesday or Friday, Facebook and email messages can’t be answered.
The first event this year will coincide with the State Election on Saturday March 11th. Our school will be used as a polling station and the P&C will be running a sausage sizzle to keep voters happy while waiting in line. Volunteers will be needed to run the sausage sizzle and the more volunteers the shorter each shift will be. Notes will be sent home with students in the coming weeks so please keep an eye on their take-home folders, front pockets or the bottom of their bags – wherever they choose to place those important pieces of paper from school.
If you are interested in joining the Fundraising Committee for 2017 then please come along to the AGM on Feb 22nd at 7pm. New members are always welcome and volunteers are always needed to coordinate and run events. You might even have some fun in the process!
Our dedicated school banking officers are now available each Friday morning in the undercover area (near the canteen) for all of your school banking needs. Please see them for information on how to open an account and to make a deposit into your child’s account. The program is run though the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and you need to open a student account with them to be able to use the school banking service.
